Scores of studies show poetry, music, dance, theater, and visual arts have become primary tools for teachers and counselors working to teach and aid in the healing of children, especially at risk youth.
A TEAR FALL
By Stephanie Salas (Fifth Grade)
I shed a tear
I felt it fall, you
caught it, shared
it, held it, felt it, then
suddenly it wasn’t so big after all.
Poem by poem children of all ages are building a bridge from their hearts to the awareness of their parents, teachers, and friends.
